The students will be saying the Rosary Wednesday Sept 15th at 9:05am for Tony K. Tony K was diagnosed with cancer last week and will have surgery on Sept 15th. Please join us in the gym to help support Tony K.

It is amazing how fast summer goes. School in only three weeks away. Look for your new school information to be coming in the mail by the end of the week. The open house will be August 24th at 6:30pm in the gym. The first day of school is August 30th. If you have any questions please call the high school office.

Host an HT foreign exchange student

Good Afternoon
I received a phone call today from a agency looking to place a 12th grade male students from Mexico at Holy Trinity for next school year. We would need a family to step up to host this young man. The report says he speaks pretty good English. Just a reminder if you host a student you receive a $1,000 tuition credit break plus $500 a month stipend for hosting a student. If you are interested please respond as soon as possible. They would like to place this student by the end of the week.

Garage Sale at HT

The 10th grade class will be having a garage sale Saturday May 15th from 8am-2pm, and Sunday May 16th from 9am-12pm in the gym. Stop by and support the 10th grade class.

Host an HT foreign exchange student

Please consider hosting a foreing exchange student. It is a great cultural experience and you famliy recieves a $1000 tuition credit and a $500 a month stipend for hosting the student. Please contact the high school if you would be intersted in hosting a student.

Tornado Awareness Week

This week is Severe Weather Awareness Week. We will have our yearly tornado drill on Thursday April 22nd at 1:45pm to coincide with the statewide event.

7-12 Students First Aid training 4/26

Dear Parents
Our students in grades 7-12 will receive first aid training on Monday April 26th. Deb Thompson will be coming to go through first aid training and AED training for our students during Religion Class. We feel this in an important lesson for our students to have just in case they are in position to help somone in distress. If you have any questions let me know.

I again was humbled by the generous people who both organized and prepared the 2010 Spring Fling event, and the donors who bid so generously on the items on the live and silent auction. It was a great event, with good food, good fellowship, and raised a significant amount of money for HT. Thanks to all invovled.

The LP/HT boys basketball team will take on Springfield tonight at 6pm in Mankato. This is the section final with the winning team making a trip to the state tournament. Good Luck LP/HT Bulldogs!

Sub-Sections Champs

The LP/HT boys basketball team defeated Cedar MT/Comfrey last night at Gustavus Adolphus College to claim the sub section championship. Congratulations to Coach Neumann and his players. They played a great game. The boys will now play Springfield on Friday evening at 6pm at the Taylor Center at Makato State. Lets get a big crowd there to cheer on the team.

7th and 8th grade guest speaker this Friday, March 19th

Dear 7th and 8th grade Holy Trinity parents:

This Friday March 19th the 7th and 8th graders will be participating in some training provided by Rick Rassier. The training session will be from 9:15-11:40am.Rick is a successful speaker whose topic for the day will focus on showing students how they can work better together to be successful in school and in life. He also works with students to talk about motivation and goal setting. I think this will be a great event for the students, and they will get a lot out of this day. I have included some information about Rick and his presentation below. If you have any questions please contact me.

Boys Basketball in Sub-Section final on 3/15 at GAC

The LP/HT boys basketball team will be playing in the Sub-Section Championship on Monday, March 15th at Gustavus Adophus College at 5pm. Lets get a great turn out to support the boys to a big victory.

Re-enrollment Letter Coming to Your Home

We are in the process of creating the budget for next year and this information is crucial in making the decision for our school for next year. Spring Fling Coming

Mark you calenders for April 17th for the annual HT Spring Fling. This is an evening full or action and fun with the silent and live auction and great food and spirits. This is an important fundraiser for HT. Bring a new friend to Spring Fling this year.

Snow Fest Week

This week marks the celebration of Snow Fest at HT. Aaron Guennigsman was crowned King today, and his queen is Amber Ernhart. Junior attendants are Ryan Horstmann and Michaela Otto, Sophomores are Francis Penas and Ashley Stifter, and the freshman attendents are Leigha Felder and Joe Otto.
The dress up day today was sweat, pajamas and ugle sweater day. Tuesday is famous couples day, Wednesday is Blizzard Day, Thursday is Salad Dressing Day (ask the students), and Friday is dress up day. Friday afternoon will also feature the HT talent show. Our version of HT Idol. The week comes to a conclusion on Saturday night with a winter formal dance. Come up and enjoy the activities at HT this week.

Happy Catholic Schools Week. This is the week that Catholic Schools stop to celebrate the things that make us great. As I stated two years ago, "What makes us different, makes us special". We are able to provied a high quality safe education for our students with it's foundation based in our Catholic Faith. I am proud of being a part of Catholic Education and for being a part of HT. Come and join us for donuts on Friday before school. We were fortunate enough to have Bishop LaVoir celebrate mass with us today. We are grateful that he is so supportive of Catholic Education. Thanks to everyone for your support of HT.

Purple Pride Friday

Friday, January 22nd students will be encouraged to wear purple to support the Vikings. If students don't wear purple they need to be in the appropriate dress code.

Catholic Schools Week

Next week is Catholic Schools Week. This years the theme is Dividends for Life. The investment that families make in sending their students to a Catholic School help provide students with the educational base that will help them to be successful in their lives.
We will have a mass on Wednesday with Bishop LaVoir coming to celebrate with us. Friday morning before school come and help us celebrate by having donuts and juice.

Pro Life Rally Friday the 22nd

We have 50 students and chaperones attending the the Pro Life Rally on Friday, January 22nd. What a great way to show our support for the respect of life. Thanks to Mr. K and Mrs. Kahle for helping set up this opportunity.

Catholic Schools are Safe!

In this months NCEA publication it talks about reasons people choose to sent their children to Catholic Schools.
More often than not, surveys reveal a key reason given is the school is safe--meaning the school provides a safe environment for students and teachers.
At the Heart of the Catholic Faith is the profound understanding of the dignity of every human person, the person "made in the image of God". Our fatih teaches us we are religious beings by nature, that God loves us and all people are made in communion.
Pretty good thoughts. We work each day to make Holy Trinity a safe environment for our students and staff. This is an expectation for ourselves.

NWEA Test Results

Holy Trinity uses the NWEA test to monitor our students educational progress. These tests help the school and the students see where their strengths and weaknesses are in their learning. We use this data to help make changes and adjustments in our curriculum to help our students be as successful as they can be. We test our second through tenth grade students in the fall and spring in Math, Reading, and Language Usage. Our students do very well on this test. Ninety two percent of our student in grades 7-10 students performed At or Above the National Average in Language Usage. In Math eighty three percent of the students scored At or Above the National Average, and eighty percent of our students scores At or Above the National Average in Language Usage. This a great accomplishment and a great testament to our great students and staff at Holy Trinity. Keep up the good work.

Great Christmas Concert

Band Concert and Christmas Banquet

Band Concert December 17th at 7pm
Just a reminder tonight is the HT Christmas Band and Choir Concert. Mrs. Boillat and her students do a wonderful job, and I am sure tonight will be a great night of music. A unique twist this year is that Mrs. Boillat has invited alumni band members to return to be a part of the contest. Please make the time to come out to this great event.
Christmas Banquet
Friday December 18th we will the annual Christmas Banquet. This is a great event in our school and is one of the special things we are able to do because we are Catholic. The juniors will serve the rest of the high school students a wonderful sit down meal provided by our cooks. The cafeteria will be decorated with Christmas colors and lights, and Christmas Carols will be played by the band. A new tradition we started last year is the faculty singing Christmas Carols to the students as they eat their meal. It is a special day at HT. Then in the afternoon the kids get a chance to participate in some fun events.

Geography Bee Today/Mid Quarter

Holy Trinity held the annual Geography Bee today. The event started with ten students who had qualfied earlier through their social studies courses. The questions were tough, and our kids did great. Congratulations to Will Dietrich who was this years winner. Also congratulation to Wyatt Entinger for coming in second. It was his third year in a row in the finals.
Today marks the end of the mid quarter. Teachers will have grades done on Friday. Look to check for your students grades on the school web site.

Elementary Christmas Program

The Christmas Season always brings with it the wonderful performance by our students. Today at 1pm and 7pm come and see our Elementary Students show off their talents in the Elementary Christmas Program.
The High School Band and Choir Concert will be Thrusday December 17th. Come and support the kids.

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas

The students spent this morning decorating the hallways at school. They did a great job. This certainly helps put us in the Christmas Spirit. Again one of the nice things about being a Catholic School is that we can celebrate things like Christmas without concern of offending anyone. I think one of the most special events that we have at our school each year is the Christmas Banquet. The band plays Christmas Carols as the students sit down to a formal meal served by the juniors. The cafeteria is decorated for Christmas. It is a special moment and one the students enjoy. So Merry Christmas to all!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at HT

I have a number of friends who are using their facebook page to post something new each day that they are grateful in their lives. As we get closer to Thanksgiving please take the time to stop and give thanks for the things that you have in your life. The Lord has blessed us with so many things, but our days are so busy and time passes so fast we forget to slow down to see what we have, and give thanks.

I am Thankful for all the wonderful students and families of HT. You people make this a special place to be.
